For years, PSA has been the main blood test used to assess prostate cancer risk – but it has real limitations. PSA is produced by healthy as well as cancerous prostate tissue, and can be raised by benign enlargement, inflammation and other non-cancerous conditions. At the same time, some important cancers occur without a markedly raised PSA. Stockholm3 is different.
